Taking a walk through history, cadets and staff from 1220 (March) Squadron Air Cadets recently enjoyed a great day out visiting the Royal Air Force Museum at Hendon, north London.
Numerous exhibits lent interest to a busy day, which included visiting hangars where cadets could get close up to aircraft. The cadets were able to see aircraft from early designs right up to present day, as well as learn about the advances in aviation through the history of those who flew them. They were able to walk under some amazing aircraft and being able to look straight up into them was a fantastic learning experience.
The cadets were able to learn about some of the trailblazing people who have been part of the journey of flight and the RAF, past and present. Points of interest included the Milestones of Flight and Battle of Britain displays as well as an exhibit on Princess Mary’s RAF Nursing Service.
