1220 (March) Sqn recently took part in the rain delayed Peterborough Race for Life. Having been washed out earlier in the year the race finally took place on 11th September. As in the previous five years not only did the female cadets and staff run but the remaining cadets pitched up to provide marshalling and support on the finish line.

Five cadets and three staff  took part in the race. Flight Sergeant Lauren Arnold (19) was first back for 1220 hotly pursued by cadet Katie Mowatt (14) and not far behind were the others. 1220 are proud to say they are pretty fit bunch!

Meanwhile nineteen other cadets and five staff helped keep the opening section of the course clear and then moved on to hand out water, medals and goody bags on the finish line, working alongside 51 (Orton) Sqn. Final duties were to clear and pack away the finishing area.

Flight Sergeant Lauren Arnold, who had coordinated 1220’s entry said. “It was a great turnout this year and all the cadets enjoyed the experience. We expect to raise around £400 for Cancer Research as a result.”
