Busy Remembrance Weekend for 1220

Remembrance weekend is a very busy time for 1220 and this year was no exception with cadets on duty Friday, Sunday and Monday.

On Friday 16 cadets joined the Army cadets and Royal marine cadets in a morning service at the Neale Wade Academy.

Sunday saw 1220 take part in 2 parades and 1 service. An 07:45 start at squadron for breakfast before marching into town to lead some 500 military, ex-military and civilians on the parade through the town to St Peter’s Church. It was then back to the war memorial for 11am and the 2 minutes silence followed by wreath laying. Cdt Amy Brownlie-Wood laid our wreath this year.

Having returned to squadron a small contingent made their way to Eastwood Cemetery where crosses were placed on the war graves there including one RAF.

Lunch back at squadron then the band along with small contingent of cadets headed for Chatteris where we lead their afternoon parade. Cadet Samuel Gowler laid our wreath.

Monday and 14 cadets attended the Cromwell Community College for their Service of Remembrance.
